A self-taught artist, relying on instinct and observation, Mike Mayone enjoys making a career of what comes naturally; the care and passion he puts into creating his acrylic and oil paintings are echoed in their high realism and fine detail. Landscapes of the northeast are those he most prefers to capture, and his artwork is representative of his desire to preserve and share those moments of beauty and subtle magnificence we too often overlook. Capable of painting and drawing in many media, his most common choice is acrylic, with which he creates paintings of great accuracy, depth and color. Best know for his impressive realism and fine detail, much of Mike’s artwork is often mistaken for photography at first glance.
Mike’s home and studio lie nestled in East Middlebury, VT, where the Green Mountains meet the Lake Champlain valley. Mike shares his home with his wife and their young son.
